New Orleans agency calls
AppliedOnline saving grace since hurricane
AppliedOnline has
been our saving grace since Hurricane Katrina. Thank goodness we
switched to AppliedOnline in May of 2004! I don't even want to think
about the added misery we would be experiencing if we were still
operating from our old, in-house system. I can't praise Applied
Systems enough for its product and excellent support before, during,
and after the storm. Thanks so very much, Applied!
--Johnny Fisk, Vice President
John W. Fisk
Company
New Orleans,
LA
At Client
Solutions News press time, John W. Fisk Company was still
without telephones, electricity, and safe running water; but staff
members felt extremely lucky, because the storm effects could have
been worse. Employees are scattered, working out of hotel rooms and
other locations where an Internet connection is available so they
can service customers.
Johnny Fisk said,
One piece of advice to all existing and future AppliedOnline
customers: Use the system to its fullest possible extent. Enter
all of the information you possibly can into the system. It
is well-designed and can literally allow you to conduct business
from anywhere in the world at any time, especially when your
customers need you the most--after a disaster.
Success stories
like this and others from users have prompted Applied Systems to
extend free migration to AppliedOnline for yet another month
(see November specials). For information on migrating to TAMOnline
or VisionOnline, contact Client Solutions at 800.999.5368 or
[email protected].

Disaster assistance from IVANS
Hurricane-affected agents
are reminded that IVANS will increase--free of charge--the
archiving of data held in the Information Exchange and ECS mailbox
services for as long as needed.
Using the U.S. Postal
Service, IVANS will identify the ZIP codes hit hardest to determine
which agents (y-accounts) could have been affected. IVANS will then
automatically increase the file archive so when the agencies are back in
business, they can retrieve their files. ECS will retain its archive
indefinitely; Information Exchange has been expanded from 60 to 120 days
and can extend further if needed. If you know of agents affected by the
storms, please notify IVANS with the agency name and y-account. IVANS
will immediately take the necessary actions.
Also, keep in mind that
IVANS is committed to assisting with telecommunication needs, offering
special, at-cost pricing until agents can re-establish permanent
connectivity. For assistance, please contact an IVANS account manager or
Tim Hisch, Offering Manager, EDI, IVANS, Inc., at 513.943.8894, fax
203.601.4272, or
[email protected].

2005 TENCon draws
record attendance
Congratulations to
ASCnet, Applied Systems Client Network, on hosting a spectacular
annual conference last month in Nashville, Tenn. Celebrate!,
ASCnets 2005 Technology, Education & Networking Conference, was a
memorable celebration of the user groups 20th
anniversary. Record attendance and more educational sessions than
ever made this year's annual event "the most valuable ever,"
according to many participants.
Staff members from
Client Solutions, Support, and other Applied Systems departments
were delighted to meet with so many customers in the TENCon
Exchange, in classrooms, at mini-sessions, and at Theme Night as J.T.
Taylor from Kool and The Gang made the dance floor the ultimate
place to Celebrate.
Mark your calendar
now for next years TENCon, scheduled for September 26-30 at the
Gaylord Texan Hotel in Dallas, Texas.

Visions Import/ Export option saves data entry time
Has a customer ever
sent you an Excel spreadsheet of 50 vehicles to be insured? Has an
insured asked you for a data file of its 100 locations for purposes
of review before renewal? Did you know that Vision has an
import/export option that spares you the agony of entering all that
data?
From Home Base,
click on Utilities, change the show to Import/Export Setup
and Utilities, and click on Import/Export Data Utility.
Here you can create a template for data being received or sent.
Select the fields and the order in which they should appear in the
file. Data can be imported from or exported to a comma delimited,
tabbed delimited, or fixed file format. A template can be created
for these schedules: boats, equipment, glass, locations, people,
signs, and vehicles.
Once the template
is created, you can import/export right from the Account Information
section of the clients electronic file. If necessary, a template
change can be made by accessing the template right from Account
Information.
Also, when
exporting, you have the option to choose which policy the data
should be exported from, and you can create the data file as an
attached spreadsheet in the clients electronic file.
